Ana Resende

Ana Resende is a Portuguese graphic designer who founded her own studio in Porto in 2016. She is also a past attendee of the Porto Design Summer School.

Ana Resende has been designing books for over 10 years, combining this practice with other interests such as architecture, cinema and curatorial projects. After completing her studies in architecture and film at FAUP, she went on to the master's programme in graphic design and editorial projects at FBAUP. She was co-creator of Glote and Bolsa de Ideias, two series of events that combined talks and food to showcase and support emerging projects in the city of Porto. She was the editorial coordinator for the Lisbon Architecture Triennale and CIAJG. She produced and co-directed the film A Construção da Villa Além (2017) and the short films Afastado de Quem Fala (2017) and Three Patios for the Sun (2020). She is currently a teaching at FAUP.

Since 2016, she has been running her own studio, focusing on collaboration as a way of enhancing the potential of each project. Her approach is grounded in conceptual and typographic explorations with a special focus on the material possibilities of books. She has worked in close dialogue with artists, architects and other designers on identity and editorial projects for cultural and academic institutions. Recent collaborations include Alkantara Festival, Batalha Centro de Cinema, Casa da Arquitectura, Circo de Ideias, Fundação de Serralves, Fundação Marques da Silva, Galeria Municipal do Porto, Universidade do Porto, Universidade do Minho.
