The inaugural edition of the Porto Design Summer School took place at Studio Andrew Howard located in downtown Porto.

The tutor team consisted of Hamish Muir, co-founder of London based design studio 8vo, currently co-founder of MuirMcNeil, and lecturer at the London College of Communication; Jesica Helfand, senior critic at Yale University, co-founder of Design Observer and Winterhouse; and Andrew Howard, course leader on the MA in communication design at ESAD, founder of Studio Andrew Howard. Guest tutor was renowned British designer Jonathan Barnbrook.

We would like to thank Historian Manuel Loff (University of Porto) and Architect Nuno Grande (Porto University School of Architecture) for their respective lectures on the history and architecture of the city, and their tours of the city. In addition a special thanks to collaborator Ana Raposo, design lecturer at ESAD, school of art and design.
